My 9 year old has always had GI problems, GERD & irritable bowel, but for the last 8 weeks has had acid reflux not controlled by meds, loud, frequent burping with acid, intermittent pain & nausea that sometimes lasts for hours and gets to a level 9 or 10. She is also starting to get headaches & dizziness. She is also in puberty. Ultrasound, MRI, Endoscopy & upper GI are all fine. Blood work fine, although new gi just ordered more & I'm not sure what it was. Also finally ordered stool samples. It's been so hard to get someone to help her. Sometimes the pain has been so bad we've gone to the ER & they've done nothing for her. I had to get a psych eval just to prove this is not anxiety & even though the psychologist sent a letter saying my child doesn't have anxiety, they still don't believe us. Doctors are surprisingly nasty & always want to label you if you are female. Anti spasmodic meds don't help, which also should prove it's not anxiety & I've never heard of anyone burping up to 80 times a day from anxiety. She just wants to be normal again.
