Hoping that someone will have an idea what on earth is wrong...!  (Read 936 times)

Hi,

I'm hoping you guys might recognise or have an inkling what on earth is going on with me.  I have developed over the last 6 months a random set of symptoms that seem to completely baffle my doctor.  I'll try and set them out in some sort of order... (before any of this started, I was taking Sertraline and Loestrin - not sure if this could have anything to do with it?  I'm also a 22 year old female if that makes a difference)

Beginning of January - Dizziness (not spinning rooms or anything, more like being drunk, nightmare to try and walk) and intense nausea.  Doctor decided it was a virus and to wait for it to go away.  Gets worse, hard to travel into work (Tube is an absolute nightmare with dizziness and nausea, not fun!)
March - Finally goes away!
April - Ah here we go, back again.  Joy.  Then I start getting intense fatigue and really painful headaches in the right side of my head.  Loads of blood tests done (I hate needles) and all come back fine.  Over the next few months I get more and more symptoms, like confusion, forgetting words, loss of appetite, complete alcohol intolerance, bright lights hurt my eyes.  I also sometimes get a bizarre feeling that I'm bleeding from my ears.  I was prescribed Ranitidine to deal with the nausea(?) and the nausea and dizziness got better.
June - Along with everything else, I suddenly got a sharp stabbing pain in my ribs, so bad that it knocked me for six.  It eventually subsided, but since then I've had pain all in my ribs, shoulder blades, hips, sternum, collar bone, often so painful that I can't move.

There are other things, but I'll add them once I remember!  I eventually saw a neurologist who decided there was nothing wrong that she could deal with, although she discovered my occipital nerve was tender when pressed.  She also took me off all medication and pain killers (ouch!) and I've gone steadily downhill since then.  I had depression before all this, which is why I was taking Sertraline, but the illness and not knowing what it is is making it a lot worse.  I just want to get this sorted!

Sorry for going on for so long, but if any one has *any* ideas whatsoever - please suggest them!  Or tests I could ask for etc.  Any questions you want to ask that may shed light on it - please go ahead :)

Thank you!

Just to clear things up, you've only ever had a Blood Test ??? for all these symptoms ??? Have the doctors ever sent you for an MRI or CT scan ?

Hi!

Thank you for your reply :)  Since I posted this I've had an MRI, but nothing showed up on it except slightly lowered cerebellar tonsils, which wouldn't have caused any of this apparently.  A bit stuck as to what to do next, although I'm having an eye test as I've been getting floaters, maybe that will show something.

Hi,
Please read my diagnostics for Hannah. I think you have the similar pathology in your Central Nervous System (CNS), but the different pathology in your Peripheral Nervous System (PNS).
