Great stuff Keilia...but isn't it a bit overwhelming too? I bet you never thought you'd have a diagnosis, and now you're going to have surgery to fix it!
Good luck honey! Tell us EVERYTHING when you come back after!

I am not overwhelmed yet, but I know that is coming. I will have a minimum of 6 surgeries to fix both the HS and the Chiari Malformation. Both types of surgery are NOT guaranteed but I am willing to take that chance. Most days I still cannot believe that not only am I now diagnosed, but it is very possible that the majority of my symptoms will go away! SO SO happy!

I will so keep you updated =) Wish I could update here with my phone like facebook, lol.

Saw my surgeon today! Only ONE surgery for the HS! That will be Nov 30 - 6 more days! Then when I am recovered enough, brain surgery to decompress and hopefully alleviate the symptoms. No scheduled date for that yet. Then, I will have breast reconstruction - the HS surgery is going to be very disfiguring. Then, I should be down to taking just prozac for depression, and methotrexate for the autoimmune stuff and thats all!  Huge Hug Dance Huge Hug

2010 sure started out crappy, but I did get actual, real, cannot be mistaken diagnosis....and will be having the surgeries soon to correct the issues......both surgeries are only about a 50ish success rate (depending on who you ask) - but I finally have docs who listened to me, diagnosed me, and are helping me. I dont even know how to begin to than them, or you guys for listening to me whine for so long! (I admit it, I am a whiny drama queen...I dont like being that way tho!)

It didn't start out too bad for me!
Tell us EVERYTHING when you get back, I wanna hear all the details. The success rate would be even lower if they counted all the people who believe the 'it's all in your head' crappola. You're very brave Keilia, do me a favor and never forget that.
That's what we're here for! To listen and try to help.
Be as much of a whiny drama queen as you want. Life takes all sorts of people!

Told You It Was Not All In My Head!

Thanks Y'all (Yep Im from Texas originally lol)

I am flying high as a space station atm, but here is a brief rundown:

Got to doc office - they gave me electric blanket AND a soft cotton robe (gotta love cosmetic surgeons). He marked me up, they got the IV in, I heard them say, "Breathe in some oxygen, I said Ok and....I woke up =) Surgery took longer than expected, BUT he was able to use loose skin from my losing weight to close the incisions up instead of having to use skin grafts. Not a single HS incision left on my body!

Next I need the brain surgery for the Chiari Malformation - and after that I will be seeing this cosmetic again because he will be doing the medically necessary breast reduction and reconstruction. I am in a LOT of pain, but the dilaudid will kick in soon. I get to recover at home! I love this surgeon - all he did was take 5 minutes to listen to me and he knew he could help. I know so many docs that should take a lesson!

You guys support means SO SO SO much to me!  Huge Hug for New28 - You are so so sweet! and  Huge Hug for Samantha, thank you for the well wishes and  Huge Hug Huge Hug Huge Hug for everyone here =)

Just happy you're getting the stuff you need! Nobody deserves to suffer through that crap, but you did it, and you've come out a stronger person! So proud of you Keilia!

 Huge Hug New =)
I have 3 split incisions. They split from an infection. I have been on Cipro now since Nov 30. I have an appt on Thursday but in the morning (Wed am) I am calling him. My pain is pretty manageable now, and it is mostly gone. But still on bedrest per doc because of the infection.

Merry Christmas, Blessed Yule, Happy Channakuh (sp?) and Happy Holidays to all!
