Hi all, I hope I find you all on a good health day. It's so nice to know I am not alone.
Well let me introduce myself; My name is Taylor and I live in Texas. I am 23 years old and have been living the past 5 years with an undiagnosed illness. After high school, my health really seemed to start to go downhill. I started getting these horrible headaches and having crazy moodswings. Usually it would get worse around my period and I was pretty unbearable. So I got on 'the pill' which only made things worse. Finally I got on the Nuvaring which has been the best so far. My moods got better but the headaches persisted. Ive always had really bad allergies so we went to the allergist to talk to him about my headaches. He referred me to an ENT and I ended up having a balloon septoplasty which is a surgery to clear out the sinus passages. It helped for a couple months but then the headaches came back. I talked to my regular doctor about them and she gave me a pill that made me so nauseous and dizzy I stopped taking it. Plus, I didn't want a pill, i wanted answers. Then I started getting really bad irritable bowel and putting on weight like crazy. My doctor kinda blew it off so I decided it was time to get another doctor. My dad is really into homeopathic stuff and so I went to a chiropractor. by this time I was getting all over body pain in addition to the headaches and irritable bowel. The chiropractor helped a little but definetly did not provide me with any answers or any significant relief. I was content with just going to him until a new symptom popped up...what I call 'sweat attacks'. Basically, I will be doing nothing that requires any extreme amount of exertion and I will start sweating like crazy....so much so that I would have to keep an extra change of clothes on me. This was really embarrassing. I went to a new internist and she diagnosed me with fibromyalgia and put me on Cymbalta. This helped with the irritable bowel and the mood swings but thats about it. Recently, a new symptom has started to rear its ugly head; WI will get this sudden urge to go to the bathroom, and it feels like just before you have diarrhea, but then when I get there, and sit on the toilet, I start getting really dizzy and nauseous and basically pass out. This has happened two times in the past 2 months, one time was at school and the other at home by myself. This scared me a lot. I am currently working to find a headache doctor because the headaches are getting much much worse but its hard because my dad, who basically finances all of this, is hesitant to believe it cant be fixed with proper exercise and eating right. So this is where I am right now and it's really frustrating. Today, for examople, I missed school because my headaches were so debilitating. I shouldnt have to live with a headache every day and I am really tired of it. Well thats it for me so far. Like I said, I am so glad to have people to talk to who might understand me. My family tries but they can only sympathize.
I hope yall all have a healthy day :)
