my girlfriend was admitted into hospital last night, brief history, 23 year old indian girl born in fiji, now living in australia since she was 9 yo.  she has had previously a kidney infection 3 years ago and 1 year ago she also went to hospital after feeling faint and had back spasms for a period of 3 weeks which went undiagnosed. for the past 2 years she has had chronic larangitis, where she would lose her voice every couple of months when her immune system wasnt 100%.

so yesterday afternoon while at school (doing teaching degree on prac) she felt a little faint, she sat down hoping it would pass but then as she tried to stand she felt like she would pass out and grabbed on to the person next to her. she never lost consciousness, but started feeling very sleepy and hyperventalated and had tingly feeling in her face and hands. once the ambulance arrived they check her blood sugar and pressure, all was fine. she was getting very cold but sweating. during the trip to the hospital she started feeling as she would fall asleep but was kept awake. she then had very slow response time when answering questions and her speech became very slow and jerked as she would try get the words out. her legs felt heavy and she could not walk. after 2 hours at the hospital she said she felt like a small child in the mind and her speech remained very slow and jerked and she could not walk unassistaed with very little control of her legs.

they did blood tests CT scan of the head, chest xray, and all came back fine, all the response and nerve tests they do are all fine. she got a bit better by end of the night with her mind back to normal and she can process everything in her mind normaly but she still had a very jerked speech and her body spasms as she trys to sit up straight or walk, and she has very little balance. for the whole day today doctor after doctor would see her but all said she seems fine with all the tests and the symptoms dont fit any specific thing.... we are scared she will just be sent home without a diagnosis...

anyone have any ideas or suggestions with what we can ask for? we live in brisbane australia and its scary not knowing what is happening with her.

thank you in advance
rick

she has seen 9 people if you count them all up. and all arent sure. so far the best they can come up with is that its the bodys reaction to some stress it experienced. and they just want to treat the symptoms. but they are doing mri and more blood tests to be sure... strange.....
