Told You It Was Not All In My Head!

Sooo...since I was last here...I was given a 100% diagnosis on Adult Onset Still's Disease, Ankylosing Spondylitis, and Wilson's disease. Seeing my doc ASAP, I am now covered in what looks like goosebumps but they are not - they wont go away! So, anyways, Ive been SUPER sick and in pain. Had to make a trip to Dallas for family court and was my own attorney - so that was a LOT of stress. So of course I am flaring up. Havent been able to walk much since I got back from TX. I am pretty much living on my herbal prescription not legal in most states medication. I am doing ok, though. My Rheumy says that song, it goes , "I must be one of those wonders, god's own creation...and as far as they see they can offer me no explanation..." fits me, because I have THREE rare diseases. She has never seen anyone like me she says, LOL. Also just got over my 4th round of pneumonia since last Aug. The goodpart of being sick, is I have now lost 100 lbs since last Aug. There is always a silver lining!

Well, both the AS AND Wilsons have genetic markers and I tested positive for both, multiple times. So I believe it. Its just odd. But I have never been one to stick to the rules much ;P When a person has one autoimmune disease, that greatly increases the risk of developing more of them. Plus, I have a LOT of autoimmune diseases in my family.

Some think that since autoimmune is so prevelant here is all the CRAP food we eat. (Preservatives and junk) There might be a correlation.

Im scared cause Im losing independance and mobility. Walking is getting much more difficult. Still, no one will put me on a traditional pain mgmt regimen, so medical mj it is. Which is fine. Way less side effects, and non addicting. Plus, with all the vomiting I do, pills kind of lose their effectiveness.

On the good side, I am now riding 5 miles a day on my stationary bike. Not all at once, but every day I get in 5 miles =) AND ~~ I finally quit smoking for good 3 weeks ago today. I got a baby prairie dog. He is amazing! His name is Tater Tot =)

Things are going better for the most part. My two oldest kids will be here in two weeks for a visit. The meds I am on are helping me have some sort of life. Not much of one, but I am at least out of bed every day now. OH! And I taught myself how to cook, finally.

A Prairie dog is a type of ground squirrel native to the plains in North America. Tater is such a joy! SOOO cute and he loves to cuddle with me and make me smile even when I am too sick fdor anything else. Ive only had him since May 12 but already I couldn't imagine life without him!
