Hello Everyone,
Well I was given my dx today. I have a spinal disorder called Arachnoiditis Disease. The bottom of my spinal cord looks like a spider, hence the name. My neuro said it was caused by either my lumbar spine surgery or the many spine epidural injections I have had. There is no treatment or cure. They can only treat the pain. It is a progressive disease that can cause paralasis. I am pretty bummed out to say the least. I thought I would be happy with a dx because I thought then I could be treated and be on the road to recovery. I can't be treated and I will never recover. I guess I have a really negative attitude right now. maybe I'll feel better tomorrow.

Thanks for listening,
Lisa

Oh Lisa, I know it wasn't the best news, but at least now you know why, which is better then being in limbo.

Keep fighting!

Hi Lisa,

I'm sorry about your news, but it's better than being told "it's all in your head".  Hopefully, it will progress very slowly... and you never know, a new treatment could pop up tomorrow.  At least we are fortunate to live in an age where there are constantly new developments and treatments.

Due to 14 years of progressively worsening all-over joint pain, twitches, inability to empty bladder and searing back pain, I'm also seeking a diagnosis, and have no idea what they'll find in the end.  But I am darn sick of people telling me I "look okay".   Grrrrrr!

Once again, I'm new here, and just getting the hang of this forum, so after reading your story, I wanted to tell you that you're in my thoughts, and I wish you the very best.  Huge Hug

Lisa,

I am sorry it was not a better diagnosis =/ I can sympathize, as mine are also not cureable, one is progressive, and will paralyze me.
