Told You It Was Not All In My Head!
|
Yes, get them cultured. MRSA is all around the area right now. I had MRSA last Feb that manifested in boils. I now have a LARGE amount of very large boils and its a skin staph infection that is NOT MRSA. I have a doc appt Friday to see if I need surgery to remove them and graft skin. Definately get them cultured. If you see a red line coming from one and going towards your heart or a lymph node, get to the ER stat. Try vinegar. Wipe vinegar on them and let it dry just before a shower. It helps me some. Get Hibicleanse from the pharmacy. It's OTC and it's what hospitals use. Wash them in this once or twice a day. Get on an antibiotic. They are not working for me, but the infection I have is quite serious and very deep. Use Right Guard spray deoderant. It has powder in it and a mild antibiotic according to my surgeon. Do NOT use powders or creams on them to keep your skin dry - this makes it worse. However, if they ooze and you get a skin yeast infection, desenex is the best for that. Mine are in my armpits too, as well as under my breasts. They are VERY painful. I have permenant scarring from them. But, I have had them about a year. Part of them were MRSA, part are not. I am on doxycycline for them. It is not working for me, but does for a lot of people. Bactrim and Clindimycn work very well too, but I am allergic. Vancomycin works VERY well. Hope this helps hon!
