Hey all.. so here I am last few days with the hubby before he goes back to Iraq yet again and I am sooooooo sick!! I started getting evidence of a head cold making its way to my immune system here on saturday. It was not too horrible. Just really sneezy and had that stinging sensation in the back of the nose to the throat, then all of a sudden woke up the next day and the day after feeling pretty good. Just kind of fatigued but then last night it hit me.. WAM like a ton of bricks!! The congestion is awful.. and I feel like I need to sneeze every five seconds so that in turn makes my eyes water bad. So my night last night was pretty sleepless.
So then this morning I stumbled my way out to the living room while Dustin was getting ready for work, I remember Bella (my female German Shepherd) not coming to the back to door so I could let her out to go potty and being distracted by Dustin putting on his boots and then I felt what I thought was snot running down my right nostril quickly , just as I was about to say "Bella hurry up my nose is running" the fluid then dripped all over my arm and it was blood. Oh what fun!
So mind you I am nearly 29 years old and have had a million colds in my life and even a ton of sinus infections and had never up until THIS DAY had a bloody nose!!! So naturally I was freaking out, my lovely husband is like "this is nothing to freak out about.. I get bloody noses all the time" even though to be honest in the 5 years we have been together I dont to this day remember him ever having one.. but oh well. So my reply is "Well I have never had one.. so help me out here... i AM FREAKING OUT" then I started getting squimish and started to feel and taste the blood running down my throat and so I panicked and begin to get cold sweats with some crazy intense nausea. I was gonna either pass out at that moment or vomit or both. So I took paper towels and dashed for the bedroom leaving hubby standing there mid sentence.  Luckily it finally stopped bleeding after 20 minutes. I will say that was an awful experience. Now I am scared to blow my nose! The blood I did swallow also caused me to have a great deal of nausea for an hour or so.

So now I feel like crappola... the pressure in my nasal cavaties is awful and my back hurts.. I have a slight fever of 100.5 .. not worrying about swine flu until I get a fever 102 or over. I am watching over the fever though closely. Another thing it could be is a sinus infection.. most likely. I get them a lot. This all just sucks over all though. I really don't want Dustin to get this and then we are supposed to be spending time together before he goes. It just all around SUCKS.

When all else fails, play dead!

Sounds like you had a bit of a shock, and panic. How on earth do you get to this age without having a blood nose? My bloody noses are caused by dry weather or having too many cat claws stuck in(my cats occasionally try to catch my nose hair...silly cats)!
Your panic probably didn't help the clotting, but I'm worried that you lost so much blood that it dripped. Have you checked your blood levels lately? Specifically your red blood cells?
Look after yourself.

Thanks guys. I am feeling better today.. and today is THE day. So I have been a emotional wreck for the most part. Feeling quite queasy from being upset. Crying off and on. My head hurts from doing so. I am just stressed out and I hate doing this.

I just hate that no matter how many times I have done this... it NEVER gets easier.  Cry
