Finally after 15 years of tests, procedures and doctors and specialists I have FINALLY gotten a phone call personally from my doctors nurse to tell me that something ABNORMAL was found in my blood work!! its about time!!!!  I had a blood panel of endocrine functions ran weeks ago. She did not give me any ranges or go over too many specifics but did say that my ACTH/Hormones were very low and I would need to come in on friday to do a few more blood panels to check some more specifics of my pituatary gland because its not functioning properly... or appears not to be!!! I knew deep down that this blood work was worth the wait and was going to shed some light on my "mystery illness"

I will keep you guys posted... in the meantime, I am feeling better today. The pain is not so bad at my incision site from the hernia surgery. I am able to get up, sit up and walk around with only minor discomfort. Tomorrow I go see the surgeon for my post op appt. and to get my dressing removed which I am still tender to touch there so I dont know how comfortable that is all going to be. I have been doing my best to recover in record breaking heat! today the temp was 103 degrees Ferenhiet. ick... I have an AC unit in the bedroom but even then the room is still 80 degrees but better than my living room sitting currently at 93!!! bleechh I am over it all..

I KNEW it had to be good!
You got a rough idea on the phone? Here, you have to go in for another consult to get any results, some privacy thing, and doctors use it to get more money...

honestly that is most likely why they want me to come in... that and I need to give them MORE of my blood... if I have any left.. haha.
She didn't mention what hormones besides ACTH but she said "your ACTH and hormones came back low" So I am assuming the ACTH is low and something else.. like my cortisol or one of the other ones. Just gotta figure out why now. What sucks is I don't have an appt. with an endocrinologist until mid october!  aggressive  I am hoping that in the next few weeks if something is found like clues for a  diagnosis or such that he (as in GP) will possibly either A. Treat me until I can see the endo. or B. Get me seen by a different endo sooner....

We will see.. I will know more friday afternoon. Wish me luck!

Yes he is still home taking care of me. I had my post op appointment today and they removed the bandages. My belly button looks like ground hamburger....  Cry  and its not very comfortable again because now its not covered so now when my shirt touches it etc.. its all painful again.

Today was the first day I got out to go anywhere in a week or so. I was tired so I came home and passed out for a few hours. Thanks for checkin on me... will post tomorrow about the doctors appt.

well what sucks is we are not closer to any anwers so that sucks.  Cry I guess the one good thing is I have finally been told by a doctor that "there is definately something going on.. I just don't know what" which I guess is better than.. "everything is normal and its all in your head more or less"  *sigh* He said its out of his practice and knowledge so I have to WAIT till october for my endocrinologist appt.   I didn't get copies of my labs.. I intend too but just didnt get them today. I was the last appointment of the day and was so ready to leave.

So basically... I was told three things were found abnormal.  My LH (luetinizing hormone) was very low. My insulin growth factor was low as well however my glucose that day was 81 mg/dl.. of course. Then my cortisol was High. So there it is..... he mentioned cushings but I am not over wieght so... I dont know wth... I am totally lost again. I feel like I don't have clues anymore and its confusing. Back to the drawing board. What sucks is with these findings I should have lots of clues but now its just left me scratching my head.

I bet the hubby no longer thinks it's all in your head either.

Righty - I don't think it's your body weight that decides you're overweight, it's your muscle's threshold and to a smaller degree, your mind.

Bummer  Sad
Well at least we all have some info to go and maybe research in the mean while, I'll see what I can find on those blood tests results and report back if something sticks out that might help  Smile
