I ate pretty well today I guess, I had Breakfast a snack and lunch and then went grocery shopping which I must have been crazy to do that the day before the long 4th of july weekend. Anyhoo I came back and started doing some light house cleaning. I all of a sudden noticed an all to firmiliar feeling but it came on suddenly not gradually like it usually does, I was shakey and sweating feeling weak.. vision distorted. I ate a chocolate chip granola bar real quick thinking that would help, I started putting some things away but my coordination and depth perception was horrible, I was dropping things, running into walls etc. At that time I was trying to walk to my room but I tripped over my own feet and jammed my knuckle of my pinky into the metal door jam as I fell, So I gouched that out pretty good. So then I started bleeding.. alot. So the combo of the low blood sugar and then the blood loss made things so much worse. I started getting woozy and sweating prefusly. My dogs were coming up to me trying to figure out what was wrong. I tried wrapping my pinky with paper towels but it started to soak through the paper towels.. I was stumbling around trying to find a bandage ... and sugar at the same time. Finally I just had a few spoonfuls of sugar and within 20 minutes my body started to regulate however I felt so exhausted after that. Then after my body was trying to stabalize the anxiety and nausea came on but only lasted an hour or two. Thats pretty common after an major low blood sugar event for me.
I called my husband during all of this and he said I sounded drunk, slurred speech and I didnt make sense. It was so awful at one point I was like "do I call 911?!" luckily the straight sugar helped me out. It was scary though. Glad that I wear a medical ID bracelet for hypoglycemia because that episode came on quickly, I am not used to this. I usually get som pre cursers to low blood sugar but within 10 minutes it was like BAM!!  Confused
