I Will Be Diagnosed !

After so long time being stuck at home and spending too much time on the computer I started to paint  :P

I live in a rural area and the views are inspiring, I thought I would be a master at it, but I cannot believe how hard it is to paint  ;D
Trying now for over a year to paint a tree lol
The strange thing is my partner decided to join me one day (has never painted before) and it turned out spectacular. Jealous yep, but isn't it strange how people can just master certain things without much effort...
I will try and scan to show everyone (not sure if it will work, as it's on a hard canvas board)

I know I have some artistic talent hiding somewhere in here !
I'm not bad on website design, have some internet talents (seo etc) can ride a horse, fairly knowledgeable with dogs, can't cook (should say hate cooking lol )
Being sick has made me look into other areas because I cannot continue on with my passions at present.

What talents does everyone have ?  ;D

Talent doesn't mean that it comes easily.   With drawing or painting, there's a lot of learning that's necessary.    The drive to teach oneself, even if someone's supposedly teaching you, is crucial.    They can't help unless you're working at rendering forms yourself.

When all else fails, play dead!

On an episode of Billy Connolly's world tour around australia, he's talking to Ken Done...wonderful conversation.

I Will Be Diagnosed !

Since becoming unwell/undiagnosed/chronic pain etc has anyone found hidden talents due to the restraints ?
I was rather active before all this, hockey, horse riding, loved going for long bush walks with the dogs. So not being able to do much I started painting, designed a few websites, even gardening  :P something I never thought I would take an interest in lol

What about everyone else?  ;D

I hope you're doing well with the painting, or at least enjoying it.   This condition of mine really erupts whenever I try to do just about anything, including those things I have some aptitude for.    I would say that age plus all the harsh experience with the condition over the years have added some sort of perspective that I didn't have before.  That's so vague as to be meaningless, sorry about that.

I stopped drawing for nearly 20 years because of the eye problem.   Doing any of this just worsens things permanently.   When I started again (very occasionally), I got better than I'd been in college.   I'm interested in writing.  I'm not sure how far I've actually gotten with that, but I seem to be connecting with something real, rather than just trying to "be a writer" but with nothing to say, which is how most people start out, I think.

In both cases, age and adversity have added something that wouldn't have been there if I'd been healthy.   I wouldn't have learned most of what I have in life without the condition and what I had to go through with family and others because of it.

It's not very cheery writing...

You have a way with words that's for sure Jason  ;D
And I mean that in a very positive way, you always express yourself extremely well, something I would like to do but words never sound the way I mean them to.. hope that makes sense.... :P

A lady I found on the internet (god that sounds odd lol ) who also suffers from undiagnosed illness started to write a book after years of suffering, I'm waiting on a copy as we speak.
Living with an undiagnosed illness certainly does strange things to people, and some are very profound..
Keep up with the writing Jason, I would love a sneek peek if you feel like sharing  :)

I have always loved to sing. In the shower, in the car with the radio, in choirs in school or at church, going to karaoke with friends.

I have a decent voice. Not perfect, heavens no, but good enough that when I do go to karaoke, there are regulars who have certain songs that they request. :)

i can't think of anything i'm good at, apart from annoying my kids :)
I like cooking - or baking, but i'm not very good at it.  Really i can't think of anything, i have a lot of trouble remembering stuff, so my attempts at learning the guitar and stuff have failed miserably.

We have a show on here on Briz31 - Don't know what your equivilent would be, it's a local channel, and there is a guy on there who teaches painting, It's called Arts Masterclass. It's really interesting.

Tired..

before all of this started, i was a paintballer, skydiver, scuba diver, went dirtbike riding, all kinds of things.  i was a really good quarterback, and excellent at volleyball.

but since then all of the things i used to do came to an abrupt halt.  i think i've spent so much time trying to figure out whats bothering me i havent really done anything new.  except the major change, i seem to be doing a lot better with the premed stuff than i ever did in my engineering classes ;)
