I hope you're doing well with the painting, or at least enjoying it. This condition of mine really erupts whenever I try to do just about anything, including those things I have some aptitude for. I would say that age plus all the harsh experience with the condition over the years have added some sort of perspective that I didn't have before. That's so vague as to be meaningless, sorry about that.
I stopped drawing for nearly 20 years because of the eye problem. Doing any of this just worsens things permanently. When I started again (very occasionally), I got better than I'd been in college. I'm interested in writing. I'm not sure how far I've actually gotten with that, but I seem to be connecting with something real, rather than just trying to "be a writer" but with nothing to say, which is how most people start out, I think.
In both cases, age and adversity have added something that wouldn't have been there if I'd been healthy. I wouldn't have learned most of what I have in life without the condition and what I had to go through with family and others because of it.
It's not very cheery writing...

I Will Be Diagnosed !

You have a way with words that's for sure Jason ;D And I mean that in a very positive way, you always express yourself extremely well, something I would like to do but words never sound the way I mean them to.. hope that makes sense.... :P A lady I found on the internet (god that sounds odd lol ) who also suffers from undiagnosed illness started to write a book after years of suffering, I'm waiting on a copy as we speak. Living with an undiagnosed illness certainly does strange things to people, and some are very profound.. Keep up with the writing Jason, I would love a sneek peek if you feel like sharing :) I hope you're doing well with the painting, or at least enjoying it. |
before all of this started, i was a paintballer, skydiver, scuba diver, went dirtbike riding, all kinds of things. i was a really good quarterback, and excellent at volleyball.
but since then all of the things i used to do came to an abrupt halt. i think i've spent so much time trying to figure out whats bothering me i havent really done anything new. except the major change, i seem to be doing a lot better with the premed stuff than i ever did in my engineering classes ;)
