Told You It Was Not All In My Head!

I can barely walk today. So I am stuck at my computer. Cant do the laundry I promised my hubby I would do. Made my bed, thats about it. My son, who is 9, had to make me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Every joint hurts. Even my hips hurt now, and they didnt before. Called my doc. She says she needs the reports from the docs I saw last week before she can change my meds. None of them have even contacted her, and all three knew to do it. I am pissed. All  I want is some friggin pain relief. Why is this too much to ask?

I feel so....dismissed. Like because I have clinical depression I am not worth their time. I know what depression does, and trust me - it doesn't give you fevers. I looked up Fibro, and SOME of it sounds like it could be, but not the majority? I dunno. Everything I see says they cant test for fibro? I dont have pain in the right "Hot spots". I dunno. Im just angry =(

I posted in your other topic about your doctors.. since I am totally in the same boat as you with having anxiety/depression and being dismissed etc...

but... Not to offend anyone that has  been diagnosed with fibro or CFS.. I was diagnosed from my qauck of a doctor with CFS last year.  I DO believe that these are real illness' HOWEVER way too many doctors are giving diagnosis' for these illnesses that end up being misdiagnosis' because they honestly think its in the patients head, since depression comes along with these illnesses.
It makes me cringe when I hear others given this diagnosis.. because to me personally and from what I have experienced in this is that these are recently common diagnosis' for people that get test after test done and they come back normal. So I feel personally I was given this diagnosis so I would basically shut up and drop it. MANY many people are misdiagnosed with Fibro and CFS. That being said.. if there is a test for Fibro though i would do it just to say I did and be on the safe side. Might as well get it out of the way. Sorry for my lil rant that went on repeating itself too much lol   Smile  basically bottom line: doctors are often too willing to give these diagnosis when they don't want to put in anymore work because they think your crazy. IMO  Big Grin

Unfortunatly there is no sure fire test for Fibro. Once docs exclude what they think it might be, they use Fibro as a catch all. And I feel bad for people who do have fibro, because it takes away from them.

I'm not sure how others feel when diagnosed with Fibromyalgia but in my case this is not the cause of my undiagnosed pain, and this has been highlighted from the Doctors, I have other non Fibromyalgia symptoms going on. We all agreed (which is rare with us undiagnosed patients  Smile) that once my undiagnosed issues are sorted we believe the Fibromyalgia won't be an issue, and I agree 100%.

The symptoms for Fibromyalgia are not what I have been complaining about for all these years, infact not one of them fits my lumpy area pain, it was just a bonus condition (aren't I lucky  Wink)

Just wanted to add.........

In some of us undiagnosed patients CFS is caused by being extremely exhausted from the pain and suffering. I think alot would agree with me here, so not the REAL CFS as such

And for the Fibromyalgia, we compensate by adjusting/lessening the pressure on certain areas (where our pain stems from) so we start noticing pain elsewhere because that area has started taking on more of the weight of our bodies.....hence we get aches and pains

And now, also, the pain has spread pretty much through my whole body. No point in going to the ER. But I wonder - why has no one x-ray'd my bones? I will be calling my doc on Tuesday (Monday is holiday here) to find out.

I have been seeing a lot about Fibro as a cause of undiagnosed joint pain. But each and every time, it states that Fibro has points that are painful when you touch them. And mine is not that way. So still ??? about that.  I am wondering now, if something is wrong with my back, since I have shrunk an inch in the last 6 months. That has to mean SOMETHING.

Sorry am blathering, I just have a need to talk.

K
