hello nice to meet you all, I cant find a doctor who will help me get treatment for my evironmental illness that Ive had since age 17, when I worked in a printing factory, using glues, inks, bronzing and varnishes, I was ill every day at work but it cleared when I was away from the substances, I didnt realize at first that it was work related, just thought I was sick as used to be sick on the way home on the bus from work.... I t wasnt until I had left work that I started to notice, furniture polish and Windolene were giving me sore eyes and feeling moody, sick and depressed, I told the doc but he laughed, said I had catarrh and gave me some medicine,, I stopped using these things around the house, but then noticed others were afftecting me with cigarette smoke, and perfumes... As the years went by, many other things began to cause the samehorrible symptoms, and it wasnt until only a few years ago that Ive been able to find alternative washing powders, washing up liquid, soap and shampoos... I cant let anyone in my home wearing smelly stuff, hair gel, deoderants or perfumes, just cant, feel ill and giddy straight away... its actually dictating my whole life, as i cant go places where there are lots of people who will be smelling of something. or the toilets will have air fresheners, cant even go in a taxi for the air fresheners, its not sneezing or a few minutes of suffering, once Ive got it in my body it can stay for many days making my life a misery... right now my eyes are bad as have allergic eye too , started same time in the factory with a growth on the bottom inside edge of my eye, I still have it but it flairs up when I m in contact with any substances chemical related... my house is smell free of everything even bleaches, cant use and cleaners except my Surecare, everything is from them except my soaps and shampoo which is Simple.. Tests have proved I have allegic reaction to all these things but there are no places to treat it , well not on the NHS anyway.. I just wonder how many have this illness and might not know as it causes so many horrible symptoms, its very like Gulf War Syndrome, ...but that made me doc laugh too when I told him... scary stuff isnt it... dont know if at my age now ILL ever get help...
