Ongoing Edema  (Read 1002 times)

I know most of us are girls here, and we exerience swelling due to menstruation cycles, but what I'm experiencing is definately not this.

Whenever I drink fluids of any kind (water, juice, soup), my hands, feet and basically everywhere swells up. It's visibly noticable, and is an ongoing, everyday thing. Almost 2-3 minutes after drinking, I notice the swelling. My cheeks feel "tight" and my pants feel like they're gonna explode. I can't feel sensation from my skin properly..whenever I touch or scratch my skin, it feels desensatized. Like there's a layer of plastic film over my skin.

This is not a new symptom, I've been having this for 3 years. My face is used to be thin, but now it looks "buttery" LOL. This is definately not because of my salt intake because changing my diet does not change this. I look older than I am..

I'm definately not peeing out enough water. I need to strain to get a good flow going, but I don't have any pain while urinating..
I'm so frustrated! I feel like I'm living in some other person's body!!

I've had ultrasounds done on my bladder, urine tests, 24 hour urine tests, etc. They all came out normal.

I think it could be my small intestine since I feel the effects edema so immediately after drinking. It could also be my stomach.

I was thinking about using diruetics to control this..but I know the long term effects of water pills is renal failure.. I don't know if I want to risk that :S

It wouldn't hurt to try them for a week or so! or maybe just take 1 every other day!

I Will Be Diagnosed !

Sorry I don't have any ideas Jenny  aggressive...maybe just try the diruetics to see (while you're still searching for the right diagnosis) if they help at all  Smile
