hi people!

today the day started very well and i wasn`t absolutely prepared for something happening.
i have slept enough the night before and i have eaten normal stuff, enough carbs etc and also drank enough. Wink

at the afternoon i drove home from shopping center when i suddenly and out of reason felt very nauseous, got a very rapid heart beat and felt my respiratory muscles getting weak.i also felt weakness at my muscles and i started getting shaky.then also my head felt like getting a little seizure, i got confused and stopped at a bus station.i drank some water but the situation improved only a little.
i was very anxious at the moment and felt like dying, but after a while i decided to drive home slowly.

luckily there were only a few metres to my home and while driving i often got the feeling of fading out from my head..

at the end i was at my bedroom and measured my pulse rate, it was 147 and my blood pressure rates were slightly hightened.

then i gave my finger a little stick and measured my blood sugar value.
strange enough I wasn`t really hypoglycemic and had a blood sugar rate of 88.

but as my situation didn`t really got better iI took four pieces of dextrose and ate two apples (although having eaten enough and didn`t feel hungry).

then slowly my situation improved, after an hour my nausea slowly disappeared as having too much air in my stomach and my pulse rate and nervous system also got better by time.

after one and a half hour my physically symptoms were almost disappeared but there was some kind of mental confusion left....

i don`t know why sugar helped me with this problem although don`t really being hypoglycemic ?   Confused

heya..
I have reactive hypoglycemia well I am sure thats what it is.. i have the glucose tolerance test tomorrow actually.  What you described is how I feel pretty much 50% of the time... and I know that your glucose level did say 88 however sometimes you will still have a low blood sugar hypoglycemic reaction if it drops too fast, ie crashes. So it could have just dropped extremely fast but yet still stating it was in "normal range"

Once I eat the sugars the pulse rate steadies and i dont feel so weak and out of it but then I feel anxious and nausiated for about an hour or two depending on how long I let my levels crash, its like it takes a toll on my body to stablize. I have done some research also on blood glucose and if it drops or crashes at all at a fast rate or if you go hypoglycemic it takes A HUGE toll on your body and takes alot for the body to recover from, hence why you feel confused and drained and nausiated once you have gotten in what range make you feel "normal"

you just pretty much told my life story there... heh..

Have you been diagnosed at all with hypoglycemia? do you check your blood glucose regularly or atleast when you feel off??

Hello othobe!!

Yeah I did a long time glucose test, but the results were normal...
My doctor said maybe reactive hypoglycemia but doctors don`t know the causes in my case....or they say it is all psychosomatic  aggressive

I remember my hypoglycemia problems started when I was 19 and in a disco, I remember exactly the situation (I drank a little bit but not very much, normally I very rarely drink alcohol because it doesn`t taste), and then I had it the first time.
It was very bad and I had the fear of having a serious heart problem, then getting home with a taxi.

I thought that I have to do a good, eat enough the next day and that was it!

But it didn`t disappear even the next days and by the time I got a nervous wack really. The problem progressed to a panic disorder with the fear of collapsing in public.

Luckily the problem got better with time and today it has dropped to 20 to 30 percent of the time, but thats different.

I have days where it is a big problem and then periods where it seems to have disappeared  Confused

And how are you now with that stuff?

Nice greets

trancy   Huge Hug
