Hello All ... I have an appt on April 29th in the morning with a new GP. Please keep your fingers crossed for me that he will listen to me and he will be the one that beleives me. I have had nothing but problems with my current GP. I have had her as my GP for three years now and each time I go in with something new she always wrote on my chart how many "psychiatric issues" i had and that she is wondering if that what the problem is and nothing is wrong physically. She has now also refused to give me referrals to any more specialists. Her nurse is rude and they don't return my calls... don't really care for me basically and dont seem to be anyway concerned about my glucose levels. So please pray this is the doctor for me!! Then again I am used to dealing with jerks for doctors that either way. I WILL be dissapointed but it won't get me too down.

I will keep everyone updated. Wish me luck!

Thank you!! only two more days! I am trying to be optimistic about this... and even if this is NOT the right doctor for me I am gonna ATTEMPT to not let it get me down. That maybe easier said than done but I just take that as it comes. Hopefully I am going to be pleasantly suprised.. no no.. I am going to be pleasantly suprised! (staying positive)

It's hard to be positive when you've been kicked in the teeth so many times. Try your best to remain positive, but at the same time try not to get your hopes up  Wink

isnt that the truth!? that is definately what you have to be when your undiagnosed. I tried to the too optimistic approach only to be let down  and man that is the lowest feeling ever.. to think you are just plain crazy. At the same time you don't want to be a complete pessimist because you have to keep some hope or else you won't get yourself back up again. Some where in the middle something that we need to maintain in our searches. Easier said than done.. haha..

all I gotta say is my new Doctor IS AWSOME.. well so far. Its only been the first appt but he NEVER rushed me out of the room. He sat and listened to me and didnt make me feel crazy at all. He did an EKG on the spot! he wants me to bring him my entire medical records so he can go through them. He said it would take long to go through but he didnt mind... ! He said we need to start making connections with all my tests and symptoms so we need to bring all the medical records together.

He was also pretty concerned by my blood sugar levels. He was concerned because he said usual people with insulin problems are some what over weight and I am skinny so he had some concern there and said its something that should not be ignored. He also checked out my glucose meter for me on the spot. He said that it was off by 10 but that that was not a huge difference and even if it was so. when my readings were 20 or 30 that would have been 30 or 40 which is still very low. He brought up addison's disease and seeing a endo.
He first wants to rule out any kind of sleep disorders. So he scheduled me for a sleep study which I have never done yet... and then he wants to see me in 6 weeks with all my records and go from there...

What an awsome doctor and guy all around... i hope it stays that way!! it went great... so glad for once.

When all else fails, play dead!

Where's mine? I need an understanding doctor

The only worry I have currently is the doctor doesn't allow my service dog in the exam room...Kaos probably won't be allowed in the room when they remove the birth control implant. There's not much I can do about the inability of her colleagues to listen, but if the dog's allowed in a hospital, why is he not allowed in a gp exam room?
