Hello .. I am new to this forum .. I am also on the Mystery Diagnosis' the show's forum. That is where I found this forum.

It is so sad how many of us here are still undiagnosed and suffering being told that we are crazy. These things are in our "heads" then you too start to wonder... am I crazy?? and for a moment the doctors get the best of you.... "but I dont FEEL depressed and if I am its a result of doctors not anything else"

My story is pretty long since it all really started for me at 13 years old. I am now 28.
Good luck to each and every one of us and be us blessed from this pain and sickness soon!

Here are my entire symptoms for the past 14 years: some are recent, some still occuring, some from the past:

Flushing of the face and earlobes bright bright red
Blurred and double vision
Heat intolerance
rashes.. like hives on the face but flat on my neck, back, and chest
swollen lymph nodes
tender lymph nodes along with infections of groin lymph nodes
canker sores inside the mouth and gums
inflammation and pain of the roof of the mouth
Weight loss
Weight Gain
Loss of appetitte
Nausea
Diarrhea
Bloating and constipation
craving sweets and salts
Dry Skaley skin
horrible acne in my late 20's worse than when I was a teenager
Heart racing and palpitations
Anxiety
a Feeling of fullness in my throat and chest
upper adbomen tender to the touch
hypoglycemia
insomnia
larthargy
dizzy spells
confusion and slow cognitive function
white outs and black out upon standing most the time
horrible eggy and bile like burps that  don't go away for atleast 10 or more hours
wierd cramping like pains that go from my upper adbomen/diaphram area down to my intestines
low libido
muscle twitching
tingling in my back and gums and face
frequent UTIs
joint swelling and pain in the lower back and legs

I have been seen by ENTs, Gastros, Allergists, herbalists, and neurologists and about 12 different GPs, a few psychiatrists, counselors, and psychologists.
Initially diagnosed with IBS and Anxiety and then since my doctor can't find anything else wrong with me: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
I have had blood tests rule out, Lupus, Lyme, Eppstein barr, Mono, RA, and a few other vitamin panels. All normal. I have had a CT scan of my kidneys done, normal. MRI done with and with out contrast of the brain and neck, colonoscopy, two endoscopies, barium sallow, and an gastric emptying scan. EKG, Echocardiogram,24 hour holter heart monitor also had a ultrasound of the gallbladder. All negative.. everything normal. Alsot forgot to add every doctor seems to suspect something to do with my thyriod so my blood gets drawn with that with every new doctor.. everything always comes back negative for that too.  My recent neurologist gave me an EEG in which showed some abnormal brain activity for a mild form of epilepsy.

On two of my ER visits about 4 months apart they found blood in the urine without sign of an infection so.. they suspected stones. No stones found after CT scan even though my lower back did hurt, ran blood tests for kidney and liver function as well. Those came back normal too .

I am looking into seeing a endocrinologist as we speak. I need a referral and GP refuses to give me one.. I will get there though.

Thanks again for the warm welcome here. I am glad to be here.

Kristin

Hey Jenny.. I read a post of yours yesterday and you do have a few similiar symptoms to mine.. if i remember correctly, Thanks for the welcome. Also Sammy Thank you for the warm welcome and a HUGE THANK YOU.. for creating this forum. Thank you for bringing us all together. Hopefully we will see more and more posts in the diagnosed section of the forum!! keepin my fingers crossed!  Big Grin

I was so angry the other day. My mom called me and told me there is a new form of hypochondria but its called "cyber-chondria" she told me that it was someone that researches diagnoses online thinking a person has them. I took it personally when she told me this. Like she was insinauting that this was like me. I got so mad. I exploded with a response of "WELL maybe if doctors DID THIER JOBS.. all us undiagnosed people wouldnt have to search for our own diagnosis' online!!!!"  that was uber frustrating.... ! anyways.. Glad to be here!

I forgot to add that during my last endoscopy last summer, they found polyps in my stomach in clusters. They biopsied them and nothing abnormal found in them. So they left them there. *shrug* They did also did a biopsy of a few areas of the small intestine for celiacs. Negative as well there as far as Celiacs goes. I thought for sure I had celiacs for a time.

Ugh this is frustrating sometimes. I think FOR SURE.. "that I GOT it this time. I know what I have.. !it has to be it."  I research it and research it but then when it comes to testing everything is normal. So then I get knocked down again.. having to start all over.
Just in the last year I have thought for sure that I had first, MS, then Lyme and then the Celiacs Disease to heart disease only to be proven wrong. Glad I can come here. I go to these specific forums for specific illness's make some good freinds only to disappear once the diagnosis is ruled out. Glad to know that won't happen here.

Hey Kristin,

I read on your blog about how your taking the birth control pill, may I ask for how long you've been taking it? and what brands have you tried and are currently on?

Its because my symptoms started showing up right after I started taking a birth control called Yasmin.. I took Yasmin to regulate my menstral cycle, and I have a hunch it may be related.

About your skin yellowing, I have that too. Mine, though, is more like it's getting a darker yellowish colour.  The pink in my skin is almost completely gone also. This yellowing of the skin is pretty much even throughout my whole body. There's no explaination as to why this is happening, because I haven't been outside for long periods of time, went tanning, etc. The skin on my hands and feet have gotten dry and skaly too.

Was edema ever a problem for you? Like especially after you drink alot of fluids, you notice that you don't pee most of it out normally?

Sorry for asking so many questions, I'm just trying to see how many of these symptoms we share.

Jenny

I have pretty much a complete intolerance of water. So I am constantly dehydrated. My urine is quite wierd. I notice I have an over production of urine when I should not because I barely drink anything. I have adema of my hands and ankles. Though I don't notice it much after exercising but never really noted it. Its mostly when I first wake up in the morning orrr if i have been sitting for a long period of time.

And you have been tested for Jaundice? for liver function??? hmm the yellowing or tanning of the skin is a big symptom of Addison's Disease. I have been looking into addison's and other adrenal problems for a while now. I hope to see an endocrinologist here soon. Hoping for may. Do you crave salt or salty foods??

As far as Birth Control. I am currently taking Necon 1/35, I have been taking that now for quite some time, but I have also taken ortho tri cyclen and orth try cyclen lo. I have never taken Yasmin. Irregular menstrual cycles is another symptom of addison's but my cycle is honestly very regular however it has been painful even on birth control. I get very bloated too and have the edema but sometimes I wonder if its becuase of my salt intake because I tend to crave it... that and sweets but that makes sense for the low glucose levels in my blood.

That's one of the first things I noticed when it all began.. I had a sweet toothe before and never really liked salty things. Now I choose salty foods over sweet. I don't think I eat TOO much salt.. I just prefer it more than sweet now.

Yup, I've seen an endo, but all he tested me for was cushings. He took a quick look over my body and told me I was perfectly healthy..that idiot lol  I should look into getting a referal to a different endo..

Over preoduction of urine is a big symptom of Diabetes. It's diabetes insipidus to be specific.. Did you get tested for diabetes yet? Your abnormal glucose levels might be a diabetes-related symptom also.

yeah I have been desperately trying to get my current doctor to listen to me about my glucose levels.  I first told her about them over a year ago. She just told me to eat more frequently and eat protein maybe see an nutritionist and left it at that. Then I called her recently to tell her nurse about the glucose levels and her nurse told me that she thought my meter was broken... told me that she would talk to my doctor and call back. Never did.. that was over two weeks ago. I DO have an appt. with a new primary care physician hopefully he will listen to me.

I would definately see another endo if I were you.. I have heard that some endos are pretty full of themselves and that its hard to find a good one, makes me nervous. I would definately get another opinion on that...

Kristin,

I was reviewing your list.  you said you get frequent UTI's. thats odd that you would get them frequently.  are you sure they are UTI's?
have you had dipstick tests done to check for bacteria?

To be honest I DONT know if they are UTIs. Half the time that I do go to the doctor for them they are but alot of the time I would just call my doctor and she would just fill a perscription for antibiotics. A few times I went in for a supposed UTI to the urgent care clinic and they didn't find bacteria in the urine but found blood. However no kidney stones found. They do feel like UTI's though, urgency to urinate but then not much coming out, sometimes can be painful to hold, having to go again or feel like I need to go after I go.

I just found that I did have a metabolic panel in 2007. Potassium was 4.2 and Sodium was 140 Glucose that day was 83 but this blood sample was also taken in the afternoon after I had been able to eat sufficiently all day. Only thing that was highlighted as low was Carbon Dioxide of 19.

Then it looks like I had another metabolic panel last year. For that one Potassium was 4.3 and sodium 143. Glucose once again 83.  What was high was Phosphorus at 4.9

*sigh* I just dont know.. !!

damn...  there goes that idea..

regardless the point i was going to make towards the UTI, do you see mucous/bacteria or anything like that?  because urgency/difficulty doesnt necessarily mean it's a UTI unless you find bacteria in the urine

I know *sigh* I am still holding out that it DOES all have something to do with the endocronology system somewheres...

I forgot to add these symptoms as well to my massive list:  Sensitivity to Light, pupils dialate slower than normal, cold intolerance.. worse than the heat intolerance. Poor circulation for as long as I can remember, feet and hands Always cold. Trouble getting up in the morning even when I get sufficient sleep, feel best at night or after 7pm or so.. Brain fog and word fishing, I often forget what I am saying mid sentence. I wasnt sure if I should just add those to my original list on here but that list is sooo freaking LONGG because its my entire list since age 13. Some of those symptoms have since gone.. hopefully NOT to return. ha.

Sometimes I wish this all was in my head.. *sigh* I just watched my muscles twitch from my left arm to my thighs to then next to my ear.. or maybe it was my ear. I don't know. I told my husband to look at the muscle twitching. He witnessed it.. he doesnt know what to do anymore either though.
