Am glad I found this website. My story started about 3 years ago with severe muscle fatigue in my legs climbing stairs, racing heart beat and high blood pressure and anxiety. I thot I was having a heart attack. Nope. My thyroid was way out of bounds - Hashimotos. Started thyroid replacement and the racing heart beat calmed down. Everything else stayed and got worse. Muscle pain, so severe I would be in bed for days at a time just crying thinking life was over. Rashes on my upper body and face. Hives. Restless Leg Syndrome, Chronic Fatigue and sleep deprivation, apnea. Joint pain and stiffness without swelling or redness. Jaw swelling(TMJ), fingertip and toe pain. Dry eyes and mouth, etc. Confusion and lack of concentration. Down to a 30 hour week and missing alot of work with each episode. Been everywhere and no diagnosis. EMGs, vascular study, nerve conductivity, blood tests pretty normal. Am at whits end. They have done little to manage my pain and other symptoms. Just plain tired - don't know how much longer I can do this. Frustrated and weary. Want to quit doctor altogether.

Hey Spanky!

Welcome to the forum!  I'm sorry you've had to go through all this, but keep your chin up okay? you'll find your answers soon enough.  In the mean time though I hope you can find all the support you need here.  Feel free to vent all you want, let us know what's going on from day to day, good and bad we all know how they can vary

As for getting to the bottom of whats going on, I would really like you to go into as much detail as you can as to what's happened, how it's progressed, how it started, what the labs have shown.  everything.  Not just to tell the story, but so you have it written down exactly in detail what's happened.  Especially if you havent done so already.

Welcome again, you're not alone in the fight, stay strong! aggressive

Hi Spanky (Having visions i probably shouldn't have  hearing that name, lol)
I'm really sorry you are going through all this, Hopefully you will find answers soon.

There is something about the 3 year mark isn't there, that really starts making people extra desperate for answers or something, I did it too?

Thank you for all your support everyone. It is amazing how when you reach a terrible low spot emotionally that something will come along to distract you. My 13 yo daughter had an emergency appendectomy Thurs night and is doing fabulous. She even went to school today. While it has been exhausting and stressful, it reminded me about what is really important and not to wallow in the frustration part. I am still trying to catch up on my rest and am a little fearful I will crash physically from all the events of this past week but I am doing ok. I just need a little kick start once in a while. I see my rheum on Wed - evaluating for fibromyalgia at the request of my primary dr. New symptom for about a week - really strange sensations in the upper left side of my face - spasms and pulling feeling but I only notice it when I am lying down to sleep. Have had a few sharp pains (needles) there during the day. They have never done an MRI on me yet. Will see how things go on wed.

How did you go at the rheumo doctor ?

Urgh. Well, the rheum trip wasn't a great one. I usually find this dr to be especially compassionate but he was having a bad day. Anyway, he did a tender point exam for fibro and said its not that. He said the facial sensations were probably just allergies and sent me back to neurology for the 3rd time (May). He also recommended the sleep lab and would talk to my primary about that and also upping my citalopram or switching to another med. No answers, more waiting, more dr visits. Am hanging in there. Daughter is great and back in school - healing well. On the down side, due to economic conditions and probably my numerous sick days, I was selected out of my department of 40+ people to be laid off without pay for 2 months this summer. I had my meltdown and am beginning to see that it may be a blessing despite the financial hardship. We are expecting unusually warm weather this weekend (85) so I am anxious to see how I will do. Last Summer the heat would put me over the edge with muscle fatigue and pain and I had to pile bags of ice on my legs. Have my fingers crossed.

I'm sorry to hear about your job spanky22, this economic downfall has gotten everyone beat. We have it pretty bad up here in Canada too, but it's probably worse down in the States. Keep your chin up!  Smile

Best you not visit Australia then. That's 29.4 C, We were hotter than that today - a lovely Autumn's day and I'm not in the hot part of the state. I know what you mean though, the heat, especially humidity, knocks me for a six, I can't even have a hot shower anymore, my back misses them.

I'm really, really sorry about your work situation. I hope it doesn't get too tough for you, gotta be scary though. Hopefully you'll get to rest a bit more - or do you need to start pounding the pavement?
Good luck with the waiting, it sure gets boring.  Huge Hug
