When all else fails, play dead!

Has anyone tried it?
My ex brought home a magnetic mattress cover, which was useless for me because, even as a baby I never lay on my back to sleep.
I've tried an ankle support thing, it helped, I think, it could've been me healing on my own so I don't know.
I have bid on wrist supports on ebay, my wrists get sore when I sweep the yard and I can't do any serious writing.

I Will Be Diagnosed !

No I haven't tried..
I have heard of this treatment though, my mum seen a couple advertising these at the local shopping centre and we all thought they would be great for one of my dogs, who was diagnosed some time ago with osteoarthritis.
Never did try it because the current medications his on work ok.

Perhaps should think about for myself... :)

My best mate actually had a really touch labour with her kiddies and used this for her contractions and nothing else and apparently it worked great. I've never used it myself but yeah, I've heard it's really good.  ;D

That's what I have to say about this anyway lol.

Cool!
Will keep you updated.
The situation now is my right wrist hurts when I try to move or type with it, but I CAN get mostly reliable movement from it. I bashed it on something while I was cleaning. It hasn't bruised at all, but I don't think it's helped at all.

Tired..

there's really no proof that magnets can help medically.  Personally, I think its more of a placebo effect..

HOWEVER.. i'm utterly fascinated with magnets.  not that cheap crap you put on your refrigerator.  but neodymium magnets.  they are awesome, i have like 300 of them.  heh :) seriously when you're bored they are just fascinating to play with.

**if you have never handled strong magnets before DO NOT buy larger than a 3/8" cube. these magnets have enough pull force to shatter themselves, and larger ones can pinch you.  so until you learn to handle them, don't get big ones.

buy them now, thank me later.

I'm skeptical myself.   But jason, I think you might be saying "proof" when you might just mean "evidence", and I suspect a lot of people do that.   It's an important difference.

The electrical system in my body is all screwed up, so I wouldn't fool with magnets.   I do know there's something called "magnetite" in the brain, and I tried to look into that as a possible factor in my case years ago.   What I've heard about "magnet therapy" doesn't make it sound at all legitimate though, and I'm not someone who dismisses therapies just because mainstream MDs don't like them.

It doesn't work!
Watch Penn and Teller Bullshit, they say it really doesn't do anything, but if your mind is convinced it'll work, it'll work, I guess I just wasn't that convinced.

Stories like those lead some people to assume everyone can just "learn to live with" any sort of problem, and therefore we should just not bring it up or try to get help from other people, like family, and just "deal".

There's also this assumption that there's some magic adjustment that happens as soon as you decide to "live with it", that you're delaying if you keep trying to get help.

That is so true Jason, I don't think you can really ever learn to live with it, in our situation anyway....
People who are born with a disease or disability I think would be the ones who adjust to life, as they know no different. With us (me anyway) I have felt what normal is like and pray one day Im back to normal.

I will always search for answers (despite some days saying arrrgg I will just live with it) I can't stop searching.....

I know what normal is like too, but I'd resigned myself to being in a wheelchair for the rest of my life, I had no idea anyone could come up with such a wonderfully simple solution.
I don't know if I'm brave enough to be able to fit 'normal' into my adult life.
