thanks :)
well, acquired is different from hereditary forms. a person with hereditary porphyria basically means theres a defect in the enzyme pathway, but symptoms are in remission until there is a trigger. like alcohol, drugs, etc. and typically the same trigger each time for a particular person
however, acquired means that something else has built up in the system that is adversely affecting normal systems. basically making acquired porphyria a symptom, rather than a disease
which makes sense because while i do have many symptoms of porphyria, the cloudyness does not seem to be a part of it. and it took a very long time to progress to include all those symptoms. according to my new doctor he believes that "it was a build up of toxins, at first your kidneys and liver could filter them fine, which is why you were cloudy every time to begin with. gradually it became harder and other symptoms began to develop. eventually it effected them enough to cause not just porphyria, but an entire list of abnormal test results"
i have an entire book it seems full of abnormal tests. but nothing substantial enough to cause the problems i'm having, but the fact remains they shouldnt be abnormal at all. which means there has to be something that is able to effect all of the systems.
