I Will Be Diagnosed !

WWW
« on: December 10, 2008, 04:44:43 AM »

I've been motivated of late to get things moving again ( will make me feel a bit better) before the end of the year. I stopped for a few weeks because I was simply annoyed with the medical profession and needed some time out, just a little time anyway.

So I've been back to the Osteopath, he was wonderful. We talked a great deal about other options I could take, first one being go organic (but he said it's highly expensive, so I will look, but don't like my chances now I'm unemployed. Maybe the chemicals affecting my bowel. He mentioned the nerves could be irritated (from what-ever it is irritating me  ::) and this can in turn cause pain exactly where I have it (rib cage)

He also mentioned Shingles, but people have a rash (I can't recall ever having a shingle type rash, I do get rashes daily but they are put down to eczema and mite allergies) and if left undiagnosed this can cause nerve pain through the ribs, some people in extreme cases have to have the nerves operated on it gets that bad (maybe the case with me... ???) stress can bring shingles on and I have been stressed starting way back when my appendix was mis-diagnosed...something for me to think about and discuss with doctor. Then again the treatments prescribed for shingles I have actually already taken (other issues prescribed same medicine as someone would have for shingles )and no difference..maybe it was too late for treatment...

I had more blood tests today for iron level check-up and cortisol. Ultrasound tomorrow for 12 monthly check on goitre (not noticeable but it does give me grief on occasions with swallowing.

Anyway that's my update at present.
Hope everyone is getting in the Christmas Mode, it's a lovely time of year.

shingles!??  that's a long shot...

sammy i was reading your story and question for you.  have you ever had a biopsy done of your lump? specifically what i'm thinking is the lymph nodes in the area?

the "pea-sized" lumps you described, i'm pretty sure are your lymph nodes, perhaps they are soo swollen maybe they perforated and are leaking out.  probably not, but its a theory!

and thank you, i hope you have a wonderful Christmas too! :) btw, does it snow in Australia?

It sure does snow in Australia  :) not often (certain areas more common like the Blue Mountains which is about 2 hours from me.

I agree 100 % Jas on the swollen lymph nodes, even the lymphtic massage lady could feel them hence the massage treatments. The ultrasound I had back a few months ago (think maybe 8 months ago) report said I had myomas , doctor hasn't taken this any further saying they occur in lots of people. BUT interesting, my skin specialist asked me if I'd had them biopsied, she felt them and said demand they do something as I've been complaining about them for over 3 years now, they really hurt.  :'(
Anyway another thing to nag the doctors about I guess...
